Global Business Register Ltd. is an Irish HPSU (High Potential Start-Up) company which has been backed and supported by Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government agency responsible for assisting the development of indigenous Irish industry. Operating under its flagship brand, GBRDirect, the company has built an electronic network that allows customers to access and retrieve information from the national registers that are members of the European Business Register and other unaffiliated national companies registers.
The European Business Register itself is a network of business registers kept by the registration authorities in most of the European countries. EBR makes it possible for everybody to obtain comparable, official company information from the countries connected to the network-at a reasonable price. This improves the situation for small and medium-sized enterprises, which up to now have found it difficult to obtain company information across Europe.
